After you determine which hosting provider to use, you can change your domain name’s nameservers to remove the parked page and activate your domain name. If you registered your domain name with another provider, you can still purchase a hosting account with us and use our nameservers. To Set Nameservers for a Domain Name Registered With UsIf your domain name is registered with us, use the following instructions to update its nameservers depending how the domain name will be hosted or used. NOTE: You can set nameservers for your domain name on the Product Dashboard, or in the Domain Manager. To set nameservers on the Dashboard, log in to your Account Manager, and select the Domains tab. Click the desired domain name, and then click Nameservers.
NOTE: To set .ca nameservers for .ca domain names, you must also enter an IP address. For example, if you set your .ca domain’s nameserver to ns1.coolexample.com, you must also set the IP address. You can enter up to nine IP addresses per nameserver. For more information, see Setting Nameservers for .ca Domain Names. After updating your nameservers, allow from 4 to 8 hours for other networks to access information for .com and .net domains, and from 24 to 48 hours for other networks to access information for all other domain extensions. To Select Nameservers for a Domain Registered Elsewhere and Hosted HereIf you purchased your domain name registration with another registrar but are hosting your domain with us, your domain name must use our nameservers. Check with your domain name registrar for specific instructions on how to set your nameservers. NOTE: Aliased domains use nameservers based on the date they were added to your hosting account. After updating your nameservers, allow 4 to 8 hours for other networks to access information for .com and .net domain names, and from 24 to 48 hours for other networks to access information for all other domain extensions.
